Returning from Singapore, he has over 38 years’ experience in the sector. Initially in port agency and tanker operations in the UK, Greece and Saudi Arabia his skill sets beyond this include on/off hire, ship-vetting, S&P, and drybulk. After postgraduate studies at University of Plymouth, his focus has been on marine and bunker credit management. He has worked for MRC/Lloyd’s List, and Ocean Intelligence headed bunker credit at Chemoil, Soyuz and most recently GP. John became a director of Awyr Las Pte Ltd in 2011 and has continually redeveloped and improved the Credit Model used at Chemoil into OI-CAM and later GP-CAM and now ALL/MW-CAM.

Charlotte has a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and an executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School.
Having spent 15 successful years with MAN Energy Solutions where she began her career, she moved to Singapore to enhance the technical capabilities at DNVPS eventually rising to Technical Director. Joining Bureau Veritas’ VeriFuel team in 2015 as Global Technical Manager, she has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s expertise in marine fuels whilst successfully launching VeriFuel as a well-recognised global brand.
Charlotte represents Bureau Veritas’ VeriFuel at conferences and sits on numerous key industry committees, including ISO 8217/TC 28/SC 4/WG 6 and CIMAC WG7 Fuels for which she is currently the secretary.

Global Head TechnicalColin Holloway’s career in the oil and maritime industry spans more than 30 years during which he has gained extensive knowledge of a broad range of technical, as well as commercial and operational activities throughout the Middle East and Africa region.
As Global Head Technical at Cockett Group, Colin is responsible for all technical aspects of marine fuel, reselling, petroleum products and services worldwide, while being in charge of the Group’s technical strategy and approach, including the implementation of new systems, tools, policies and procedures.
As part of his responsibilities, he overlooks the monitoring and updates of the Group’s accreditation to and in line with the most current ISO 9001 framework, ensuring all offered products and services meet international customer and regulatory requirements.
In his role, he manages the Group’s vetting process, selecting the suppliers and service providers based on a strict auditing protocol, while addressing the technical needs of the Group’s globally diverse client base.
Additionally, Colin designs and implements training programmes for the Group’s technical staff members covering all technical aspects of the business and contributing to the Group’s consistent high-level performance.
Colin started his career as a chemist at the Coryton oil refinery in Essex, England, and eventually relocated to the Middle East for the SGS Inspection Group, where he gained extensive product knowledge, including the full spectrum of petroleum products, petrochemicals and bulk commodities.
Further landmarks of his career saw Colin at DNV Petroleum Services, where he was introduced to the technical world of bunkering and the maritime side of the business, as well as at a local bunker trader and Fujairah-based physical supplier strengthening his comprehensive industry know-how.
Colin holds an MBA in International Business from University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), UAE.

Holding a master’s degree in civil engineering, geosciences and environment from France, he also obtained a certificate of advanced studies in environmental diplomacy from Switzerland in partnership with UNEP. Since joining REMPEC in 2015, Mr Lauwers has been responsible for a variety of technical, policy and regional regulatory duties related to marine environment protection issues, notably the prevention of pollution from ships, assisting the Head of Office of REMPEC on policy issues regarding regional activities in that field as well as providing technical assistance and expert advice to the competent national authorities of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention, amongst others.

She has not only taken on the growth and development of IBIA in Africa, but the project management of the IBIA Annual Dinner as well as an integral part of all events and marketing within the IBIA stable.
She has more than two decades experience in marketing and project management. Moving from the design and publications industry into the advertising industry, managing and strategising for some of Africa’s biggest local and export brands. She managed some of South Africa’s prestigious events (Top 100 Companies, Top Woman in Business and Government; Black Empowerment Awards) and a number of international conferences and launches.
Spending time in one of South Africa’s top retailers, re-branding and directing packaging design and communication, Tahra also brings with her the experience of operating within other not-for-profit organisations. She is a highly skilled marketing and project manager with a passion for bringing ideas into reality.

His career began working in the hospitality and catering industry, aiding in the growth of his late grandfather’s renowned companies. Thomas serves as a director in each company and is involved in their transformation and growth.
Upon joining the family-run Seatrans Shipping, he visualised growth opportunities, expanding operations into Sicily while aspiring to increase the company’s ties with neighbouring countries – Greece and Cyprus. Thomas’s dedication his work led to his appointment as director.
In 2015, along with two shipping companies in Malta, Offshore Fenders Ltd was established and is now the largest transhipment company across the Mediterranean.
His achievements in the shipping industry did not go unnoticed, as two maritime entities on the island appointed Sullivan as director for the Malta Maritime Forum and Association of Ship Agents at the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
Through his constant drive for improvement and expansion, the family business is now dipping its toes into yachting with the construction and development of the beautiful Marina Di Valletta. This will serve to cater for over 300 yachts from berthing to supply services.

He given expert opinions and is a supporting member of LMAA. A founder member of the International Bunker Industry Association, serving on its board and as Chairman in 2012. He is a member of the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology, Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights. He is the course director of the Petrospot bunkering courses and a regular presenter at bunker conferences. He has written 12 books on Bunkering and Shipping published by Petrospot.

Chairman of the Malta Maritime ForumJudge Joseph Zammit McKeon is the Chairman of the Malta Maritime Forum.
He was conferred the Diploma of Notary Public in 1980 by the University of Malta followed by the Degree of Doctor of Laws in 1982 after which he practised primarily as a litigation lawyer until he was appointed Judge of the Superior Courts of Malta in January 2009.
As a judge, he served in the First Hall Civil Court (including as a Court of Constitutional Jurisdiction), the Constitutional Court, the Court of Appeal (in its Superior Jurisdiction), the Court of Criminal Appeal (in its Superior Jurisdiction) and with effect from April 2018, he was President of the Civil Court (Commercial Section).
On the 19th March 2021, he retired from the Bench on reaching the retirement age of 65.
Previously, Judge Zammit McKeon served as President of the Commission for the Promotion of Occupational Health and Safety, Chairman of the Malta Transport Authority, and Chairman of the Board of Appeal from Awards on Tenders by Local Councils.

In 2020, Kenneth was appointed Global Head of Bunkering for TFG Marine, a joint venture created between Trafigura and ship owning companies Frontline and Golden Ocean to supply quality marine fuels to ship owners at global strategic bunkering hubs.
Before joining Trafigura, from 2011 to 2016, Kenneth worked for Monjasa and played a key role in developing its West Africa bunkering operations. Before entering the marine fuel supply and shipping industry, Kenneth was a financial advisor for leading Danish financial services company Nykredit.
TFG Marine is a leading international marine fuel supply and procurement joint venture between physical commodity trading company Trafigura Group Pte and ship owning companies Frontline Ltd and Golden Ocean Group Ltd. Formed in 2020, the company provides modern, simplified and transparent services that bridge every stage of the bunkering process for its customers, supplying over 10 million metric tonnes of marine fuels per annum across 35 strategic bunkering hub locations globally.

Recently, he also successfully set aside an arrest in The “Min Rui” [2016] SGHC 183.

He is Malta’s representative on the Administrative Board of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and the European Sustainable Shipping Forum (ESSF). Mr Sammut is also Malta’s head of delegation at a number of meetings of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
For the last twelve years, Mr Sammut is entrusted to regulate, control and administer all matters related to ship and yacht registration under the Malta flag and their technical performance with regards to safety and pollution prevention and to promote Maritime Malta with the international shipping community. He is also entrusted with regulating the employment and certification of seafarers and to promote and advance the skills of seafarers and of persons employed in the maritime industry, to foster Malta’s relations in international shipping fora and to administer the implementation of maritime and other related international conventions and agreements.
